During the 2008-2009 school year, 34 districts,
47 schools, 67 teachers and 1,081 students participated
in ACES videoconferencing interdistrict grants. Through
the use of videoconferencing students and teachers communicated
and colloaborated with peers in partner schools weekly.
The students completed teacher designed, curriculum based,
collaborative tasks.
Some of the activities that have taken place during the
current school year include videoconferences with Carnegie
Hall, The Baseball Hall of Fame, The Discovery Center, virtual participation in
Read Across America and connections with other schools both
nationally and internationally (Argentina,Canada, China, Columbia, France).
All of the student tasks are based on Connecticut's
content and performance standards.
